Philanthropic travel · In development

A meaningful connection.
A contribution you understand.

For travellers who want to learn about Cambodia and support work that matters to them. We are developing journeys for existing donors and people exploring opportunities to give.

Locally led

Visits are shaped around an organisation’s priorities, capacity and consent, with respect for the people whose work and lives we encounter.

Clear contributions

Any donation, tour fee and administration charge would be explained separately before you commit.

Dignity-led travel

We do not offer experiences that put people in vulnerable circumstances on display to attract tourists or donations. Every person’s dignity, privacy and freedom of choice come first.

Journey ideas are developed with suitable hosts before booking. Organisations, visit arrangements and any contributions are confirmed individually.

Build a journey like this
Your interests. A considered connection.

Find the purpose that speaks to you

Your journey could explore education and vocational training, sustainable agriculture, conservation, or locally led enterprise. We would select suitable opportunities around your interests and the host organisation’s priorities.

Responsible visits, respectful connections

We do not offer experiences that put people in vulnerable circumstances on display to attract tourists or donations. Our journeys respect every person’s dignity, privacy and right to choose whether—and how—they share their story.

Connections focus on locally led work and conversations with the people responsible for it. Visits are shaped around the work itself and the priorities of the host organisation.

Different ways to take part

  • Stay and support: choose accommodation, meals and experiences that support a social purpose.
  • Learn and connect: request a host-led introduction to an initiative and its work.
  • Explore giving: arrange a conversation about current needs if you are considering a donation.
  • Visit as a supporter: build a holiday around a prearranged visit to a project you already support.

Any optional donation would go directly to the organisation, separately from your travel costs. Visits would be agreed in advance around the host’s availability and consent.

Illustrative itinerary only. Organisations, locations, access, accommodation and prices are confirmed individually. Volunteering is not included. All visits follow our commitment to dignity-led travel and respectful community engagement.

About Expat Journeys

A lifetime of connections.
A personal welcome.

Illustrative Cambodian countryside with sugar palms

I’m Gee Galloway. My connection with Cambodia began in 1995, when I first came to live and work here.

Over the years, I’ve met people who have become lifelong friends and built relationships grounded in trust, shared experience and a deep connection to this country.

These are the people I work with. Expat Journeys opens the door to their knowledge, their connections and the tourism partners they trust to deliver thoughtful experiences and dependable service.

For me, knowing a country means knowing its people: who takes pride in their work, who looks after their guests and who you can count on when plans change. Those relationships are at the heart of Expat Journeys.

Whether you’re visiting for a few days or exploring for several weeks, we bring those connections together to shape a journey around your interests and pace—from Cambodia’s best-known sights to the places and everyday encounters that stay with you long after you leave.

For travellers interested in giving something back, we also explore meaningful connections with locally led initiatives, guided by respect for people’s dignity, privacy and choices.

Let’s meet in Siem Reap

I’m based in Siem Reap and always welcome the chance to meet in person. If our schedules align, I’d be happy to catch up over a coffee and hear about your plans for Cambodia.
